As you might be aware, from previous posts that I’ve shared, I’m a volunteer with an amazing CIC called FAST. We’re a group of about 30 volunteers offering emergency emotional support to those working in frontline roles within health and care – NHS, ambulance, police and care staff.
Everyone who applies for this support is offered up to 4 FREE sessions – we say ‘up to’ as sometimes people feel much better even after only 2-3 sessions. Not only this, but they’re matched to a practitioner within 24 hours and the service is completely confidential.
Our group formed shortly after the start of the first coronavirus lockdown in response to the pressure that this was putting on the health and care workforce. The pandemic might not be headline news any more, however we’re finding that our service is needed even more than ever, as increasing numbers of staff are feeling overwhelmed and exhausted.
All the members of FAST are volunteers, donating their time and skills for free to support this sector, which works so hard and often in very challenging conditions. As our CIC grows, however, the running costs increase exponentially and it becomes more difficult to continue operating without financial support.
Ultimately our aim is to make FAST self-sustaining, but currently, we rely on other ways of generating income.
This is where you can help – AT NO EXTRA COST FOR YOU! 😃
