A few years ago, my colleague – Jane Grayer of Create Ceremonies – and I got together for Dying Matters Week to create a workshop offering information and support for anyone in our local area experiencing grief and grieving.
Jane is a wonderful celebrant and a death doula and we both share a passion for helping to remove the taboos around death, dying, grief, loss and bereavement.
Our workshop was so well received with the participants expressing a strong wish to have an ongoing space where they could come together to talk and share experiences, and so our Love & Loss group was born.
During the covid pandemic the group went online and we continue to meet – via Zoom – on the last Thursday of the month, from 5.30-7.30pm, UK time.
We offer this space as a ‘drop-in’ and so you’re free to come along when you can, and to leave when you need to. There’s no set agenda – we simply follow where the conversation leads us, depending on the people ‘in the room’.
Our aim is to provide a safe and confidential space where people can ask questions, talk about how they’re feeling, or just sit quietly, knowing that there are no expectations on them to be, do or say anything.
The group is warm and welcoming so you’re very welcome to come along to any of our meetups, or to recommend the group to your friends.
In between meetings we also have a Facebook group where we share information and supportive posts. This is also where you can find details for the monthly Zoom calls. To join the group simply click on the button below. If you’re not on Facebook and would like to be sent the Zoom details for our meetings, please contact me putting ‘Love & Loss group‘ in the subject line.
